Ekachai Maskulrat is a Thai cellist who took his first cello lesson at fifteen and studied on full scholarship at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, National University of Singapore, under Li-wei Qin, and at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins. Now based in Basel, he has appeared as a soloist with the Sinfonieorchester Basel, the Tokyo City Philharmonic, the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra and the Siam Philharmonic, and is a founding cellist of several ensembles ranging from early music to rock.
