Nop Ponchamni sang from the earliest days of Bakery Music, and has collected nicknames from press and listeners ever since — 'A Man of Smile', 'the king of love songs'. Asked who he actually is, he answers: 'Nop Nobody. I have no self, I am not anything — just a spirit in this body doing the work it is given as well as it can.' He keeps to himself, gives interviews only about work, and does not sing at events or bars. After twelve straight years from 1994 to 2005 he admits to burning out, and spent about a decade living in America with his wife before moving home for good.
