Show evidence →Pause were fronted by Joe Amarin Luengboriboon, who began as a loser: he was knocked out of the Thailand Coke Music Award twice and nearly did not enter a third year. Had he not changed his mind that day, the name Joe Pause might never have appeared among Thai artists at all. His parents said afterwards that they had hardly ever heard him sing at home, and yet he was pulled into music beyond the point of getting out. He died on 20 February 2002, and twenty years on the short body of work he left has not faded — younger listeners still go looking for it, to hear, to sing, and to play.
