Within Destruction are a Slovenian deathcore band; Luka Vezzosi plays drums and manages the group. They released From the Depths in 2012 and built notoriety in the deathcore and slam scenes. The upside of being part of this heavy family, Luka says, is the support of fans who keep backing bands no matter what; the downside is the felt need to trash everything you do not like — which sometimes turns out to benefit a band anyway, as it did when they released VOID. Their 2022 album Lotus is held up as a deathcore high point, and their fifth, ANIMETAL, takes what makes the genre good and seasons it in a new and fun way: catchy choruses, playful samples, bone-shaking riffs and blast beats. It is why they can throw down with Enterprise Earth and still fit alongside genre-benders like SiM.
