Zeal are a Thai rock band formed by music students from Srinakharinwirot University who had played backing for the artists of the day before starting a band of their own. The original four are Pex Prach Pongchai (vocals), Chu Nattaborworn Setthakanok (guitar), Pok Toryot Jongjaem (bass) and Ken Pratchaya Meebamrung (drums); they later added a second guitarist, Sila Namthep, which the band counts as a significant change. Zeal have an accent and a signature of their own, found in a mix of rock and electronic music, across songs like 'Song Rak', 'Wiang', 'Ngo Khlao', 'Lom Thang Yuen', 'Jup La', 'Ya Yu Khon Diao', 'Phop Phuea Phiang Phan' and 'Mot Chiwit (Chan Hai Ther)'. They are one of very few Thai bands to have come through from the cassette era into streaming and still be working. In mid-2018 they played their first headline concert, after more than fifteen years of waiting for it.
