Soul After Six are a Thai soul band — Pung Narongrit Supanpesat, Pingpong Wisarutthep Supanpesat and Big Sarut Wijitranon. They broke from what the market wanted by building an album around horns, a sound nobody was making then; it never sold spectacularly and became a template for the musicians who came after. The song that stayed is 'ก้อนหินละเมอ', which Pung traces to a drinking conversation about dogs barking at aeroplanes — he wanted to write something further away than that, and landed on a stone and a star. The label thought it did not fit the record. It went on last, and survived.
