Jimin is a member of BTS. He had released solo songs and self-composed OSTs before, but FACE, out in March 2023, was his first solo album — he was nervous, he said, because it was the first time putting out a record of his own, and he had worked extremely hard on it. The album holds many of the emotions he felt and was a new challenge, made to show a different, new and unpredictable side of himself. FACE means a person's visage, he explains, but also confronting, and meeting someone: the album contains the time he spent confronting himself to find out who he really is. The second keyword is resonance, the vibration of waves — visible in the album's logo, concentric circles spreading out across water.
