JPBS are an instrumental rock band from Bangkok, twelve years into the road. The name comes from the Chinese phrase 'jia pa bor sue' — literally eaten your fill with nothing left to do, idiomatically going looking for trouble. They took their inspiration from the wall of sound of MONO, the Japanese post-rock band, then formed and found their own place, releasing their first full album Waiting Room in 2023 and touring with Taiwan's Mong Tong. The six members are Jay Wattanakuljaras (guitar), Win Pumarin (drums), Waid Pueakted (guitar), Tong Promma (bass), Name Charoenthananan (synthesiser) and Sand Polsorn (percussion). Their recent shows are built with the visual team DuckUnit and take in electronic rhythm and spoken narration, making an experience that is punishing and cleansing at the same time. They played Maho Rasop Festival 2024.
