Identified Patient

The Story

Identified Patient is the name Job Veerman, the Dutch DJ and producer, works under. He started collecting records and playing music in his early teens, and released a few rough acid EPs on Pinkman and Common Thread. He had never specifically thought about trying to have a music career, he says, and there was not much thought behind the name when he first put records out — it was a reference to the black sheep of a family. The more you play, he says, the more you know how you want to present things and the less afraid you are of messing them up; right now he feels more like a DJ than a producer. On gear he is blunt: you end up buying a lot of stupid things you realise you do not need, but that is part of the learning curve.
