Nothing But Thieves are an English alternative rock band formed in Southend-on-Sea, mixing rock, indie and electronic elements. Their fourth studio album, Dead Club City — following 2020's Moral Panic — went to number one, and moves through personal struggle, the state of society, and how complicated modern life has become. Looking back on the band's first decade, singer Conor Mason calls it amazing, challenging, rewarding and life-changing: it is almost like being married to your bandmates, he says, because you spend nine months of the year together — you are not in a relationship with them, but you are nearly forced into being vulnerable. The beautiful part of that much time together is that everyone is made to crack open, and everyone ends up closer.
