Show evidence →Silica Gel are an unpredictable Korean band. They might put out a nineteen-minute track that drifts from acoustic plucking into layers of electronics, as with 'S G T A P E – 02'; or a straight indie-rock song like 'No Pain'; or something closer to a classical piano piece, like 'MachineboyGong'. They have called themselves shoegaze, neo-psychedelic, experimental and progressive by turns, and they carry two lead singers — Kim Minsu and Kim Hanjoo — whose voices sit in obvious contrast. 'NamgungFEFERE', made with Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast, began as a file their drummer sent round; when everyone heard it, they agreed it would be a very fun song to build with a guest.
